stranger thingsSeason 4 Volume 1

For fans of the series, the spring-summer 2022 collection evokes only one thing: the big return of the phenomenon. stranger things. We’ve had to wait almost three years, but season 4 will soon be streaming on Netflix in two stages: 5 episodes in late May and 4 in early July. As the streaming giant’s financial woes make headlines, any hopes of (re)gaining subscribers rest on the fragile shoulders (though broadened now that the actors are heading towards their twenties) of Mike, Will and the rest of the band. For this reason, according to statements by the Wall Street Journal, $30 million per episode. Quite simply, an enormous sum. The villains have also multiplied since the Battle of Starcourt: the Duffer brothers, creators of the series, announced the arrival of Vecna , a fearsome creature inspired by Hellraiser and Freddy Krueger. Fans of 1980s horror films will also be pleased to hear about actor Robert Englund, who was the first Freddy in The claws of the night, plays a small role here. The horror is therefore ever more present, with a haunted house, a gloomy prison in which a Hopper (David Harbour) is imprisoned in disrepair, and the proclamation of a war against the Upside Down. With our heroes now scattered between Hawkins and California, get ready to leave behind the intimate atmosphere that made Season 1 so charming.

The wife of the time traveler

Here is a series that belongs to the mythical genre of impossible romances, or at least very complicated. As Clare and Henry weave the perfect love, their life as a couple is dictated by one major obstacle: absence. Henry (Theo James, featured in the saga different) indeed suffers from a genetic abnormality that propels him into the past or future without warning, and does so indefinitely. This ability to travel through time causes him to end up in surprising and dangerous situations, disoriented and stark naked. He is also forced to reconsider the traumas of his childhood. Meanwhile, Clare (played by Rose Leslie, Ygritte in game of Thrones and recently featured in the excellent series Alarm) awaits him. The spouses suffer from this discontinuous chronology in their own way. However, their atypical experience raises universal questions. Why does passion intensify when the loved one is gone? Can we be happy despite an imbalance in love? This HBO production marks the third adaptation of the novel, following a 2009 feature film and a late 2022 musical time is nothing by Audrey Niffenegger (2003). At the helm are two veterans of sci-fi television: director David Nutter (X-Files, Supernatural) and producer Steven Moffat (Doctor Who, Sherlock), who says, “This is the love story we all need. »
